 nts an evening with Geraldine Brooks.Geraldine Brooks won the Pulitzer Pri
 ze in Fiction in 2006 for her captivating novel\, March\, the imagined sto
 ry of the absent father from the classic Little Women. The Cleveland Plain
  Dealer called March “a disturbing\, supple\, and deeply satisfying 
 story\, put together with craft and care and imagery worthy of a poet\,â�
 �� and the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel said\, “Brooks’ talen
 t lies in her ability to bring life and personality to history.” In 
 her newest novel\, People of the Book\, Brooks\, a former correspondent in
  Bosnia for The Wall Street Journal\, creates a story about the survival o
 f the Sarajevo Haggadah\, a lavishly (and real) illuminated Hebrew manuscr
 ipt created in medieval Spain. Publishers Weekly says\, “Brooks is t
 oo good a novelist to belabor her political messages\, but her depiction o
 f the Haggadah bringing together Jews\, Christians and Muslims could not b
 e more timely. Her gift for storytelling\, happily\, is timeless.” B
 rooks is also the author of the novel Year of Wonders and the nonfiction w
 orks\, Nine Parts Desire  and Foreign Correspondence. She is married to au
 thor Tony Horwitz\; they divide their time between the U.S. and Australia.
