  Artopia event on Saturday\, January 24\, 2009 at the Winter Street Studio
 s (2101 Winter Street\, Houston). \n\nJoin us from 8 p.m. - 11p.m. when we
  bring together a stimulation of the senses in the form of visual art\, pe
 rforming art\, live music and fashion. \n\nArtopia highlights Houston's di
 verse artists\, musicians\, fashion designers\, culinary masters and cockt
 ail creators. \n\nThis inaugural event will feature live musical performan
 ces by Sideshow Tramps\, Karina Nistal and Arthur Yoria. \n\nThree fashion
  shows will show off collections from Cake\, Envy Me and Zucchero. \n\nOve
 r 30 local artists will show visual art ranging in style from graffiti to 
 abstract to pop. \n\nIf that isn't enough eye candy for you\, dance perfor
 mances will be given by Houston Metropolitan Dance Company\, Dominic Walsh
  Dance Theater and Travesty Dance Group. \n\nIn conjunction with Artopia\,
  Houston Press is pleased to present $6\,000 in grants at the first annual
  MasterMind Awards ceremony. These awards are an acknowledgment of the are
 a's artists\, innovators and entrepreneurs who change our creative and cul
 tural landscape. \n\nThe night of the event\, three aesthetic adventurers 
 will be awarded a grant of $2\,000. \n\nNominees are pioneers in fields in
 cluding but not limited to -- visual arts\, performance arts\, film/video/
 media\, literary arts and fashion/design. \n\nGeneral admission tickets ar
 e $35 in advance and $45 at the door and are inclusive of complimentary fo
 od\, wine\, cocktail\, and beer sampling. \n\nVIP tickets are also availab
 le for $75 and include complimentary valet and access to an exclusive VIP 
 lounge. \n\nAll guests must be 21+. \n\nA portion of the proceeds will ben
 efit Spacetaker. \n\nSPONSORS: Tanacious Tanning\, Houston Arts Alliance\,
