  How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference (2000) and Blink: The Power o
 f Thinking Without Thinking (2005).\nHe comes to Houston\, as part of his 
 U.S. tour\, to share his newest book\, Outliers: The Story of Success\, wh
 ich looks at how and why some people succeed far beyond their talents meri
 t. &ldquo\;In Outliers Gladwell argues that intelligence alone or drive al
 one doesn't make the difference between success and failure but that cultu
 re\, circumstance\, timing\, birth and luck all figure into the picture&rd
 quo\; (Elizabeth Bennett\, Houston Chronicle).\nGladwell has been a staff 
 writer with The New Yorker magazine since 1996. His 1999 profile of Ron Po
 peil won a National Magazine Award\, and in 2005 he was named one of Time 
 Magazine's 100 Most Influential People. From 1987 to 1996\, he was a repor
 ter with The Washington Post\, where he covered business\, science\, and t
 hen served as the newspaper's New York City bureau chief.\nHe graduated fr
 om the University of Toronto\, Trinity College\, with a degree in history.
  He was born in England\, grew up in rural Ontario\, and now lives in New
