 ters Ball. Chaired by Nijad and Zeina Fares\, this year's event will be he
 ld in honor of Inprint's 25th anniversary\, featuring acclaimed Lebanese n
 ovelist Rabih Alameddine (pictured)\, author of The Hakawati\, I\, the Div
 ine\, and other distinguished books.\nIn addition to Mr. Alameddine's pres
 entation\, guests will enjoy brief readings by prominent area writers\, in
 cluding UH Creative Writing Program faculty members Chitra Banerjee Divaka
 runi and Mat Johnson\, and Houston First Lady Andrea White.\nUnique and in
 ventive table decorations based on literary themes have become a highlight
  of the Ball. The creative d&eacute\;cor\, authors\, music\, conversation\
 , and fine cuisine designed by Elouise &ldquo\;Ouisie&rdquo\; Jones make t
 he Ball one of the year's most distinctive social events.\nAll funds raise
 d through the Poets & Writers Ball directly support Inprint's diverse and 
 far-reaching schedule of readings\, workshops\, and other programs for Hou
 ston-area readers and writers. Proceeds from the gala also underwrite vita
 l fellowships and prizes for graduate students at the renowned University 
 of Houston Creative Writing Program\, home to the next generation of Ameri
