 2009-03-28\n\nIf you were in Houston in 1986 (celebrating Houston's 'th an
 niversary) you'll remember the spectacular Jean Michel Jarre concert\, Ren
 dez-vous Houston (pictured)\, an epic electronic music\, light show and fi
 reworks presentation on the rooftops of Houston's downtown skyscrapers.\nY
 ou can relive that event through a one-night only screening and live perfo
 rmance on Buffalo Bayou. Deja Rendez-Vous: A Respectacle on Buffalo Bayou 
 is presented by The Center for Land Use Interpretation (The CLUI) and SIMP
 ARCH\, with artist Jesse Stiles\, and will take place off the shoreline of
  Tony Marron Park. Viewers\, watching from the park\, will witness the sou
 nd\, video\, and light show as it is presented on a platform in the Bayou.
 \nDeja Rendez-Vous: A Respectacle on Buffalo Bayou will take place on a &l
 dquo\;floating platform\,&rdquo\; created by design/build collective\, SIM
 PARCH\, for water-based activities along Buffalo Bayou. The platform is a 
 public art commission\, co-sponsored by Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) an
 d University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts (Mitche
 ll Center)\, which will be used throughout the year for artistic projects 
 related the Buffalo Bayou.\nPerformance is outdoors on the banks of Buffal
 o Bayou. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets.\n
 &bull\; The CLUI has been in residence with Mitchell Center for one year\,
  which culminated in the current Blaffer Gallery\, The Art Museum of the U
 niversity of Houston exhibition\, &ldquo\;Texas Oil: Landscape of an Indus
 try\,&rdquo\; on view through March 29\, 2009. Various programs\, lectures
 \, and events have been scheduled in conjunction with this exhibition.\n&b
 ull\; This performance and SIMPARCH commissioned work is part of the BBP's
  new public art initiative: Confluence: Points of View on Buffalo Bayou\; 
 and the Mitchell Center Symposium\, Systems of Sustainability (S.O.S.)\, M

 Buffalo Bayou\, a contemporary art project of Buffalo Bayou Partnership\, 
 introduces innovative public art within the environs of Houston's historic

 te temporary and permanent public artworks\, integrated programming and sp
