 \, explore the neighborhood\, and celebrate their annual White Linen Night
 \, scheduled for 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.\, Saturday\, August 1. Billed as &ldquo
 \;sultry\, steamy\, exotic and artfully provocative\,&rdquo\; the evening 
 offers art\, entertainment\, shopping\, dining\, signature drinks from ecl
 ectic bars and white linen fashion.\nWhite Linen Night banners will identi
 fy participating shops\, restaurants\, and galleries\, scattered throughou
 t the Heights\, from 19th Street\, Studewood and Yale to Heights Blvd.\, W
 hite Oak and Washington.\n&ldquo\;Hot southern nights beg for this type of
  event\,&rdquo\; said Karen Mann\, one of the organizers. &ldquo\;It's all
  about supporting arts\, culture and community in a New Orleans meets Hous
 ton Heights style.&rdquo\;\nThis year's celebration will offer complimenta
 ry hospitality receptions at different gathering places. Also new are priv
 ate pre-parties\, VIP parties and after-parties\, now in the planning stag
 es. Visitors can try local food and drink specialties among the smaller\, 
 more intimate gatherings before catching a shuttle or pedi-cabs to join th
 e larger festivities. Tickets to these parties will be available for purch
 ase online at the White Linen Night web site.\n&ldquo\;We want people to c
 ome see all the Heights has to offer\, from the funky bars to the chic bou
 tiques\,&rdquo\; Mann added. &ldquo\;Come dressed in white linen and join 
 the celebration. We'll have something for everyone.&rdquo\;\nAdmission\, p
 arking\, and shuttle transportation are free throughout the night.\nMore t
 han 100 sponsors are participating this year. White Linen Night brought ou
 t an estimated 30\,000 visitors last year\, and organizers expect a simila
