 \n\nNow in its 29th year\, Inprint is proud to present the 2009/2010 Inpri
 nt Margarett Root Brown Reading Series\, one of the finest reading series 
 in the country\, giving Houstonians a chance to hear from and meet some of
  the world's leading writers. From September through May\, 12 renowned aut
 hors will come to Houston\, many for the first time\, sharing their work a
 nd insights.\nSince the readings series began\, Inprint has hosted more th
 an 300 of the world's great writers\, including winners of 4 Nobel Prizes\
 , 44 Pulitzer Prizes\, and 43 National Book Awards. The Series ranks among
  the nation's leading literary showcases and continues to be accessible to
  all.\nAll readings take place on Mondays at 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:45).
  Each reading features an on-stage interview\, followed by a book sale and

 xas Avenue\nE. L. DOCTOROW\,whose work has been translated into more than 
 30 languages\, is one of America's most celebrated writers\, with a career
  spanning half a century. The Book of Daniel\, published in 1971 and based
  on the espionage case of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg\, placed Doctorow in 
 the literary limelight and was hailed by Joyce Carol Oates as &ldquo\;a ne
 arly perfect work of art.&rdquo\; His next book\, Ragtime\, &ldquo\;as exh
 ilarating as a deep breath of pure oxygen. . . . [and] enormous fun to rea
 d&rdquo\; (Walter Clemons\, Newsweek)\, became an international bestseller
  and was made into a film and a Broadway musical nominated for 8 Academy A
 wards and 12 Tony Awards\, respectively.\nHis other major works include th
 e bestselling novels Billy Bathgate\, World's Fair\, The March\, City of G
 od\, Loon Lake\, and Welcome to the Hard Times\, as well as several volume
 s of essays and stories. He is the recipient of numerous awards\, includin
