  proud to present the 2009/2010 Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Serie
 s\, one of the finest reading series in the country\, giving Houstonians a
  chance to hear from and meet some of the world's leading writers. From Se
 ptember through May\, 12 renowned authors will come to Houston\, many for 
 the first time\, sharing their work and insights.\nSince the readings seri
 es began\, Inprint has hosted more than 300 of the world's great writers\,
  including winners of 4 Nobel Prizes\, 44 Pulitzer Prizes\, and 43 Nationa
 l Book Awards. The Series ranks among the nation's leading literary showca
 ses and continues to be accessible to all.\nAll readings take place on Mon
 days at 7:30 pm (doors open at 6:45). Each reading features an on-stage in
 terview\, followed by a book sale and signing\, run by Brazos Bookstore.\n

 won the 2005 Man Booker Prize for his novel\, The Sea. A prodigious author
 \, Banville has written more than 20 books\, including mysteries under the
  pen name Benjamin Black. The Sunday Telegraph says\, &ldquo\;With his fas
 tidious wit and exquisite style\, John Banville is the heir to Nabokov.&rd
 quo\;\nHis other works include The Book of Evidence\, which The New York T
 imes Book Review calls &ldquo\;a disturbing little novel that might have b
 een coughed up from hell\,&rdquo\; Eclipse\, Shroud\, The Untouchable\, an
 d many others\; his Benjamin Black titles include Christine Falls and The 
 Silver Swan. Banville will read from his eagerly anticipated new novel\, T
 he Infinities\, a wholly unexpected lively\, comical\, and irreverent mult
 i-generational family saga.\nABRAHAM VERGHESE (pictured)\, an Ethopian-bor
 n South Asian physician\, is the author of two highly acclaimed memoirs\, 
 My Own Country\, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award\, a
 nd The Tennis Partner\, a New York Times Notable Book\, of which Kaye Gibb
 ons says\, &ldquo\;It supersedes any memoir I've ever read. . . a wonderfu
 l examination of what it means to be alive.&rdquo\;\nHis newest work\, Cut
 ting for Stone\, marks his transition from memoir to the novel\, in a spra
 wling family epic set mostly in Ethiopia. Verghese is &ldquo\;something of
  a magician as a novelist\,&rdquo\; writes USA Today\, adding that &ldquo\
 ;Cutting for Stone is an underdog and a winner. Shades of Slumdog Milliona
