 . Marie Delgado Travis will be the honored author of year 2010. Sunday\, F
 ebruary 21\, 2010\, 12noon-6pm.  Free Admission.\nThis annual Book Festiva
 l serves as a bridge into the Galveston-Houston Latin American community e
 nabling us to promote literacy\, reading and writting skills. The purpose 
 of the Festival is to promote the local book industry\, which includes wri
 ters\, publishers and self-publishers\, book stores\, and printers. It als
 o seeks to enhance the reading habit among our community.\nActivities Incl
 ude:\n&bull\; Exhibition and selling of books in Spanish and English\n&bul
 l\; Book readings and signings by writers\n&bull\; Poetry readings by loca
 l poets\n&bull\; Performances by singers and dancing groups\n&bull\; Semin
 ars about writing\, literature\, publishing\, community affairs and health
 \nThe Houston Hispanic Book Festival is sponsored by a group of companies 
 and institutions interested in the development of the Hispanic Community a
 nd funded in part by grants from the City of Houston through the Houston A
 rts Alliance. Any profit derived from the Festival is used in financing th
 e Millenum Press book publishing program\, which produces books about Hisp
 anic themes\, that sell at low cost.\n\nStart time: 12 Noon to 6:00 p.m.\n
