It is the goal of HAA is to provide interns with an opportunity to grow professionally and think critically and strategically. The intern supervisor serves more as a mentor than as a “boss” realizing that success in any field is tied to a strong work ethic and the ability to think critically and clearly. Applicants should be in at least their 2nd year of undergraduate studies, preferably majoring in arts administration, communications, marketing, nonprofit business or development - although others are welcome to apply.
Interns in the Communications department are typically given one major project to complete prior to the end of their tenure while also aiding in other on-going projects, as applicable, and day-to-day administrative assistance. This particular internship will focus primarily on artshound.com, the agency’s arts event calendar. Interns will get acquainted with the WYSIWIG website editing system and will need to be detail-oriented in preparing materials and listing information for inclusion to the calendar – candidates must be proficient in writing and editing with a good basic understanding of marketing concepts.
Intern may also be asked to assist staff in preparing Board and Committee presentations as needed as well as be present at various meetings or events to gain experience as to how the structure of a nonprofit organization operates.
Submit resume information to Karen Ross at Karen@haatx.com.
