    Job Title: Marketing Director
    Reports to: Executive Director
    Status: Full-time, exempt

    Job Summary:
    The Marketing Director is a dynamic, innovative and motivated individual who works to develop and execute income-generating strategies, comprehensive marketing campaigns and effective patron and media relations. The Director is responsible for strategic development, planning and establishment of all marketing and communications for Mercury. The Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director and Development Director and supervises the Patron Services Manager.

    Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
    -Design, implement and facilitate annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan
    -Create and execute grass-roots marketing strategies for all concert series and activities
    -Provide marketing perspective on season planning
    -Manage the Mercury brand
    -Execute subscription and single ticket sales campaigns for all series
    -Provide direction and planning of group sales campaigns (budget, pricing, incentives)
    -Assist in developing patron service policies
    -Oversee patron services and box office operations
    -Design, implement and maintain all digital marketing activities (website, social media, e-mail marketing and digital content production)
    -Create and manage public relations activities including press releases, media pitches, calendar listings and event promotion
    -Manage content development and provide copywriting, graphic design creation and direction for print and digital material (brochures, letters, programs, e-blasts and other marketing collateral as needed)
    -Oversee the work of graphic designers and print vendors in production of print and media material
    -Manage marketing materials (inventory, press kits, inserts, archived collateral)
    -Collect and track patron and data information via ticket sales tracking and social media awareness

    Professional Qualifications:
    Mercury seeks a proactive self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who thinks critically and proactively, who provides creativity and outside-the-box thinking and who is able to accurately and passionately communicate the power and purpose of classical music in today’s society.

    Minimum Requirements:

    -Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two (2) years in marketing/communications
    -Demonstrated success in planning and implementation of comprehensive marketing strategies
    -Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
    -Proficiency with social media
    -Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
    -Familiarity with the Houston media market
    -Knowledge of classical music
    -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite is preferred
    -Capability to work smoothly, a positive attitude and mature personality conducive to dealing effectively with individuals and groups.
