The Progressive Forum Houston presents Lester Brown, President of Earth Policy Institute, Thursday April 28 at 7:30, at the Wortham Center, Cullen Theater.

The Washington Post called Lester Brown “one of the world’s most influential thinkers.” The Telegraph of Calcutta refers to him as “the guru of the environmental movement.”

Lester Brown pioneered the field of sustainability and created the first research institute devoted to analyzing global environmental issues when he created Worldwatch Institute in 1974.

In 2001, he created Earth Policy Institute whose mission is to provide a vision of what an environmentally sustainable economy will look like and how to get there.

He’s received many awards including 23 honorary degrees and a MacArthur “genius” Fellowship. He’s published 50 books including his latest, Plan B 3.0: Mobilizing to Save Civilization.

Program starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Wortham Center, Cullen Theater, 501 Texas Avenue.

Book signing after the program in the grand foyer. Books will be on sale throughout the evening by Brazos Bookstore.

All seats are in prime orchestra level, no balcony seats.

    Discounts of 10% are available at all price levels except patron for students; educators including teachers and administrators at all levels; seniors 65 and older; and groups of 10 or more; valid ID required at the door.
    
    Tickets are available at the door on event night.
    
    There are no tickets sold in advance at The Wortham box office or any physical box office. Tickets are sold only through this website, email blasts, and by phone at 832-251-0706.
    
    Parking is available under the Wortham, entrances on Texas Avenue or Prairie Street.
