    In tribute, the Houston Chamber Choir, soloists and period instrumentalists present “Esther,” Handel’s first English oratorio.

    Tuneful and heroic, “Esther’s” immediate success signaled a new direction in Handel’s career that eventually led to his masterpiece, Messiah.
