    Bayou Bend´s annual Holiday event begins Saturday, November 22! Yuletide at Bayou Bend 2008: Celebrations!

    The 2008 Yuletide Exhibition, "Celebrations," demonstrates how Americans have marked important life moments

    Among the historic scenes recreated in the first-floor rooms will be the first meal eaten by the Hogg family when they moved in to Bayou Bend in November 1928, and a Drawing Room Christmas setting created after Miss Hogg moved out of Bayou Bend into a high-rise apartment.

    Other scenes go back further in time to show the difference in weddings in 1700 and 1821; the elaborate christening of a New York Dutch-American boy in 1714, and a 1772 party for a commencement from Harvard.

    On Friday and Saturday Evenings in December, Bayou Bend is open until 7:00 p.m. - tour the 2008 Yuletide Exhibition with special handouts for children and adults.

    Tickets:

    Yuletide Audio Tours:
    Self-guided visits of the entire house, with audio tour and written text describing the Yuletide decorations on the first floor. Various dates and hours.

    Admission is $10 for adults; $8.50 for seniors and students with ID; $5 for children ages 10-17; children 9 and under admitted free. MFAH members receive a $2 discount.

    No reservations needed.

    Complete Tours:
    Docent-led tours of the entire house. Various dates and hours.
