Verizon Wireless Theater presents the inimitable Robin Williams and his Weapons of Self-Destruction Tour.

Robin Williams' sold-out, 35-city comedy tour, Weapons of Self-Destruction, has exploded onto the comedy scene, earning the comedian spectacular reviews and announcing more shows for 2009.

After multiple US dates and London (UK) performances benefiting The Prince's Trust, Williams will unleash his Weapons on San Diego, Houston, Memphis, New Orleans, Atlanta and Orlando, among other cities.

Gary Budzak of The Columbus Dispatch calls on Williams to do something for the country he clearly loves so much. "One way to break America's dependence on foreign oil would be to capture the laughter generated from Robin Williams' stand-up comedy shows," the newspaper decreed. "The laughs-per-minute from his show last night in the Palace Theatre probably were enough to power Downtown for a week." Chris Varias of The Cincinnati Enquirer commented the show was "very filthy and very funny."

The accolades continued, as Dave Tianen of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel hailed Williams' energy and performance. "He is still a kind of kinetic eruption, a nonstop verbal and physical explosion that keeps bursting before your eyes like an hour and 45 minute Chinese firecracker of comedic brilliance. After all these years, it may still be the most intense comedic anarchy you can buy a ticket for. Just the sheer bouncing-off-the-walls originality of it is stunning."

Williams' last American comedy tour was in 2002 when he returned to the stand-up scene after a sixteen year hiatus. That sold-out tour earned the distinction of being one of the highest-grossing comedy tours in history and culminated in a final performance filmed by HBO and broadcast live from New York City. The resulting July 2002 HBO broadcast, Robin Williams: Live on Broadway, was nominated for five Emmy® awards.

With more than 40 industry honors to his credit, including four Oscar® nominations and one win, two Emmy® awards, four Grammy® awards and six Golden Globes®, including the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, Williams has become one of the most successful and beloved figures in entertainment history.

In addition to this current tour, Williams will next be seen starring in the Disney comedy, Old Dogs, opposite John Travolta, and will reprise his role as 'Teddy Roosevelt' in the sequel, Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian.
