A much anticipated Centennial Sunday performance, Rob Landes – Music You Love, By Request, is set for Sunday, March 15, at 3 pm.

Sponsored in part by Texas Commission on the Arts, The Rob Landes Trio returns for an encore event at The Grand, sharing timeless tunes and stories in a whole new way.

As an audience member, you get to choose part of the program. Then, sit back and listen as Landes flawlessly weaves the diverse songs together in a seamless, musical quilt.

Landes has performed throughout the United States, Canada, and many countries in Europe. He began studying piano at the age of three and made his "debut" on the Art Linkletter House Party program when he was four.

The Rob Landes Trio is well known in the Houston area for playing in hotels and supper clubs in addition to concert performances at Jones Hall, The Wortham Theatre, The Tower Theatre, and the Houston Jazz Festival. Landes has also done musical arrangements for Liza Minnelli and Marilyn Maye. In fact, for many years, he traveled with Maye as her pianist/conductor.

He has been musical director for many theatrical productions in Houston and was involved with Stepping Out and Forever Plaid at the Alley Theatre. He has been a faculty member of the Theatre Under the Stars' School of Musical Theatre, and was musical director for the Junior League Charity Ball for three years.

Landes has served on the board of the University of Houston Alumni Association, has twice served as a panelist for the Cultural Arts Council of Houston, and has been the Organist/Artist-in-Residence at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Houston since 1996.
