    Kitty Warren has worked hard to provide the comfortable upbringing she never had for her daughter Vivie. Now that Vivie is about to embark on her own career, her mother decides that it is time for the feminist daughter to finally learn the truth about her mother’s profession.

    Pay What You Can

    The Alley Theatre continues its efforts to make the theatre affordable to patrons
    Partnering with other social non-profit organizations, the Alley seeks to generate in-kind donations and reward patrons with Pay-What-You-Can tickets. Pay-What-You-Can tickets are available in person, the day of the performance only and are limited to two tickets per person and cost a minimum of $10, but patrons are encouraged to Pay-What-They-Can. Purchase in person at the box office (615 Texas Ave.) on the day of the performance only. Cash or check only.

    The Pay What You Can partnering organization for Mrs. Warren’s Profession will be the Pink Ribbons Project. The Pink Ribbons Project will be accepting donations of trial-sized and travel-sized toiletries (for example, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, hair spray and lotion), for use in their Saturday Mammography Project.

    Mix & Mingle with other theatre fans at the Lancaster Hotel, across from the Alley at 701 Texas Avenue.
    Come join like-minded theatre goers for pre-curtain cocktails and appetizers at the beautiful Lancaster Hotel. Bistro Lancaster has a fresh and ever-changing seasonal menu, and has been rated one of the top ten in the country by Food & Wine magazine. Then, continue the evening by strolling to Alley Theatre to see the 7:30 pm performance of Mrs. Warren’s Profession.     Located in the Plaza Studio at the Alley Theatre, this group is for the bookworm in every theatre buff.
    Alley Theatre is pleased to partner with the Houston Public Library for this new pre-curtain event. The perfect evening for the book worm in every theatre buff, this event combines the imagination of the written word with the excitement of live theatre. Patrons read a book that has been specially selected to complement each Hubbard Stage production, then can participate in preliminary group and web discussions led by guests from the Houston Public Library. Readers will enjoy a pre-curtain discussion group led by special guests from the Houston area, then attend the performance. For Mrs. Warren’s Profession, the selected piece is Bernard Shaw’s play Major Barbara. Light refreshments will be served. After the performance, readers can stay for an additional Talk Back led by Alley cast members and artistic staff.

    Join the Greater Houston GLBT Chamber of Commerce as they host this event.
    ActOUT heads into its fifth season with a variety of events and productions that will once again have Houston’s GLBT community talking. Patrons enjoy fabulous pre-performance mixers with music, socializing and complimentary cocktails, all with a spectacular view from high above downtown Houston from the Alley Theatre's 4th Floor Terrace Room. Don’t miss the fantastic complimentary appetizers provided by Picazo Restaurant Bar & Grill. The place to see and be seen, ActOUT is sure to be a great night on the town.     Parking:

    There are several parking garages in the Theatre District and some street parking is available at various times.

    The most convenient parking garage to the Alley Theatre is the Alley Theatre Center Garage. The Alley Theatre Center Parking Garage is the high-rise garage located directly behind the Alley with entrances on Louisiana Street and Smith Street.

    Event parking is $5 in this garage. For all events during weekday business hours parking is $1 per 20 minutes with a $9 maximum charge.
