The Aurora Picture Show invites you to Junkyard Drive-In: Texas Oil on Film, Saturday, February 28, 6-8pm (screening at 6:30pm). Location: 723 N. Drennan Street (next door to Houston Biodiesel).

The Center for Land Use Interpretation and Aurora present a drive-in screening of industrial and informational films on the subject of oil, at the site of a former auto junkyard on Buffalo Bayou. Pack your tailgate picnic, or buy dinner from the mobile taco stand, and then tune in your car radio to learn about the industry that makes Texas tick.

Local brew provided by St. Arnold’s Brewery.

Junkyard Drive-In is part of the Buffalo Bayou Partnership’s new public art initiative, Confluence: Points of View on Buffalo Bayou, and organized in conjunction withTexas Oil: Landscape of an Industry, an exhibition of The Center for Land Use Interpretation, on view at Blaffer Gallery, January 17-March 29.

Co-presented by The Center for Land Use Interpretation and Aurora Picture Show, in collaboration with Buffalo Bayou Partnership, Blaffer Gallery, the Art Museum of the University of Houston, and the University of Houston Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts.
