For the developing or experienced editor who wants to learn more "tricks of the trade" to editing both documentary and narrative feature films, this is both the skills and theory based class to get you off and running.

Learn additive and subtractive approaches to organizing and evaluating material. Learn basic aural and visual concepts to make your cutting logical, engrossing and smooth. Put what you learn into practice with two in-class exercises that you'll compose with instructor supervision. Basic working knowledge of Apple's Final Cut Pro required.

ABOUT INSTRUCTOR KYLE HENRY: Kyle's feature editing credits include Eric Eason's Sundance/Tribeca/SXSW award winning feature narrative MANITO, IFC's THE CASSIDY KIDS and the PBS/ITVS docs ARE THE KIDS ALRIGHT?, TROOP 1500, LETTERS FROM THE OTHER SIDE and the in-production WHERE SOLDIERS COME FROM. His editing work can be seen in 2009 on major cable TV with the docs AUDIENCE OF ONE and TRINIDAD. He is also the writer/director of the Sundance/Cannes screened feature narrative ROOM, now available on home video and Sundance Channel's video-on-demand
