Bayou Bend, the American decorative arts center of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, hosts a free Family Day the third Sunday of each month from September through May.

Sunday, February 15:   Glorious Gardens.

Envelop yourself in the splendor of Bayou Bend in springtime and learn about nature, too. Among the spectacular blooming trees and azaleas enjoy the nature-inspired crafts from local groups.

Explore the movements of birds and insects through dance and take a tour of the collection specializing in works inspired by nature itself. Make time to visit with the many animals in our petting zoo and even create your own flowers and crawling creatures.

Bayou Bend’s Family Day programs are designed to encourage adults and children to explore American history. Each month features a different theme and a variety of related activities and performances geared toward educating and entertaining children. On Family Day, volunteers from the Houston Junior Woman’s Club show visitors the first floor of Bayou Bend.
