The Houston Family Arts Center (HFAC) presents Neil Simon's lighthearted and hilarious comedy, Come Blow Your Horn, about two bachelor brothers sharing an apartment in New York City. Performed by special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc. and directed by Lisa Garza, Come Blow Your Horn opens for a three week limited engagement June 5, 2009, at The Texas Repertory Theatre, 14243 Steubner Airline Road in Spring, TX. Tickets are affordably priced at $12-$16 and are now on sale for all performances.
Come Blow Your Horn was Neil Simon’s first play, which premiered on Broadway in 1961. Frustrated with living at home with his older, Jewish parents, young Buddy Baker packs his bags and arrives unannounced at the luxurious Manhattan apartment of his older brother, Alan, a fast-living, girl-chasing bachelor who never allows his duties at his father's waxed fruit factory to interfere with his fun. Alan is initially pleased at his brother's show of independence, but Buddy is such an apt pupil that he soon surpasses the excesses of his older brother! Watching his brother's selfish immaturity as it mirrors his own, Alan suddenly realizes the futility of his life and is jolted into maturity.
Come Blow Your Horn stars all local Houston actors: Joshua Clark as Buddy Baker, Daniel Feigelson as Alan Baker, Scott Holmes as Mr. Baker, Yvonne Nelson as Mrs. Baker, Sapha Arias as Connie and Emily Posch as Peggy.
