    Divergence Vocal Theater embarks on a swirling journey where tales of ancient Mediterranean women are illuminated through opera, poetry, and dance. Scenes and arias from Gounod's opera, Sapho, and Berlioz’ Les Troyens. Piano works of Viardot and Boulanger. Sappho fragments, poetry of Jill Alexander Essbaum, and contemporary dance. (Sapho and Les Troyens selections sung in French with English supertitles. Poetry in English).

    Divergence Equinox Soiree -- join us after each performance for our not-to-be-missed after-party with surprise musical guests including Audio Telepathy!  Suggested after-party donation: $10 Singers & Players: Misha Penton (pictured), Shelley Auer, Alison Greene, Michael Walsh, Jill Alexander Essbaum, poet, the Divergence Dancers, Stephen W. Jones, piano. Artistic & Stage Direction: Misha Penton Musical Direction: Stephen W. Jones Choreography: Toni Valle.

    Divergence Vocal Theater classical vocal music & interdisciplinary performance arts.  A progressive attitude to repertoire selection, fearless contemporary staging, and an exciting fusion of interdisciplinary arts characterizes our non-traditional approach to classical vocal repertoire. The result: cutting-edge performances featuring historic and new opera, art song, piano works, theater, dance, and multimedia arts.

    On days when there are Astros games or other big events, parking on the street outside of the theater is often prohibited (and you will be towed). There are the $5 lots you can use or you'll have to walk a lot further to get free or cheaper parking.
