Join Inprint for their annual Poets and Writers Ball.

Lovers of literature throughout Houston gather to celebrate the world’s great writers at Inprint’s annual Poets & Writers Ball. Chaired by Nijad and Zeina Fares, this year’s event will be held in honor of Inprint’s 25th anniversary, featuring acclaimed Lebanese novelist Rabih Alameddine (pictured), author of The Hakawati, I, the Divine, and other distinguished books.

In addition to Mr. Alameddine’s presentation, guests will enjoy brief readings by prominent area writers, including UH Creative Writing Program faculty members Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni and Mat Johnson, and Houston First Lady Andrea White.

Unique and inventive table decorations based on literary themes have become a highlight of the Ball. The creative décor, authors, music, conversation, and fine cuisine designed by Elouise “Ouisie” Jones make the Ball one of the year’s most distinctive social events.

All funds raised through the Poets & Writers Ball directly support Inprint’s diverse and far-reaching schedule of readings, workshops, and other programs for Houston-area readers and writers. Proceeds from the gala also underwrite vital fellowships and prizes for graduate students at the renowned University of Houston Creative Writing Program, home to the next generation of America’s top writers.
