The contemplative aspects of the world’s great religious traditions are presented in the Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing Series, a series of free lunchtime programs. Spiritual practice can offer the possibility of healing—physical and psychological—as it deepens a sense of meaning and connection to what matters most.

Wednesday, February 11: Christian, Dr. Robert Hesse

Robert J. Hesse, degreed in theology with a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, is co-founder of the Contemplative Outreach Network dedicated to interdenominational Christian contemplative prayer. He was inspired at Gethsemani Trappist monastery, at the time home to Thomas Merton, and is an ordained Catholic Deacon in the Galveston-Houston Archdiocese. His interests include the convergence of science and religion, and he has a special interest in healing suffering from mental illness.
