Wednesday, March 11: Sikh, Guru Gian Kaur Khalsa

Guru Gian Kaur Khalsa is a Minister of Sikh Dharma, has a Master’s degree in Social Work, has practiced and taught Kundalini yoga and meditation, and is a past volunteer on a domestic violence hotline and a suicide prevention hotline. As a Sikh, Guru Gian strives to be a “seeker of Truth.” Being that Sikhism is meant to be an experience rather than a philosophy, these five statements said by her teacher, Yogi Bhajan, are what she hopes frames her actions: Understand through compassion; otherwise you might misunderstand the times. Recognize that the other person is you. When the time is on you, start and the pressure will be off. There is a way through every block. Vibrate the cosmos; the cosmos shall clear the path.

This series is co-sponsored by Ligmincha Texas Institute, The Jung Center, and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
