    Special Spring Break Family Tours at the MFAH

    Look, discover, and create on Special Spring Break Family Tours at the MFAH. Experience art in a new way on an interactive tour designed for the whole family.   The MFAH offers interactive tours for the whole family. Monthly tour themes explore animals, sounds, colors, faces, nature, and the senses in art. Enjoy learning about art while hearing stories, writing poetry, and so much more.

    Special Spring...

    Look, discover, and create on Special Spring Break Family Tours at the MFAH. Experience art in a new way on an interactive tour designed for the whole family.   The MFAH offers interactive tours for the whole family. Monthly tour themes explore animals, sounds, colors, faces, nature, and the senses in art. Enjoy learning about art while hearing stories, writing poetry, and so much more.

    Special Spring Break Family Tours:

    March 17, 10 a.m.
    Color Exploration
    Red, yellow, and blue - where are you? Discover how artists use primary and secondary colors in their art in this interactive tour. Tour begins in Beck lobby.

    March 18, 10 a.m.
    Searching the Senses
    In this interactive tour, families can explore how art from around the world connects with our five senses. Tour begins in Beck lobby.

    March 19, 10 a.m.
    How Was That Made?: Exploring Art Techniques
    In this interactive, hands-on tour, families can explore how artists make works of art, from paintings to wood block prints. Tour begins in Beck lobby.

    March 20, 10 a.m.
    Incredible Creatures
    Families will discover "incredible creatures" from around the world on this interactive tour. Tour begins in Beck lobby.

    Family tours are recommended for children (ages 4+) and their adult companions.

    Other Spring Break Family Activities at MFAH:

    Creation Station
    11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 19-20 and 1 to 4 p.m. on March 15 and 22
    Create your own works of art at Creation Station, held at Southwestern Bell Studio, Beck Building.

    Sketching in the Galleries
    1:00 to 4:00 p.m. March 15 and 22
    At our Sketching in the Galleries program, families have a chance to observe, learn and create while surrounded by works of art. An MFAH teaching artist guides your experience in the galleries.

    Storytime Tours
    2:00 and 3:00 p.m. March 15
    Storytime Tours, which make connections between children´s literature and works of art, begin at the Southwestern Bell Studio in the Beck Building.

    Available all the time:
    The MFAH Family Packs, which contain fun activities and materials designed for adults and children to learn about and discover art together. Buildings and Beyond is a family-friendly look at art and architecture. Discover surprising building materials, try out architecture tools, and study works of art like a skilled architect! Visit the Membership Desks in the Law and Beck Buildings to borrow the free-of-charge packs.

    Set your own pace to look at art in the museum, using our new self-guide, Travel the World at the MFAH: 15 Works of Art Kids and Families Won´t Want to Miss! The guide includes information about the works of art and suggests some simple looking activities.

    Free with general admission to the museum.

    children under 18 $3.50
    children with library cards get in FREE on the weekends.

    Parking:

    Museum Parking Garage
    Located directly east of the Beck and Law buildings, the MFAH Visitors Center features a four-story covered parking garage.

    The easy-to-find parking entrance is on Binz, marked by a large, yellow arrow.

    You're always protected from the elements when you park your car in the Museum Garage. From there, you can go to the Visitors Center lobby and find a ticketing desk and up-to-the minute museum information.

    As an added convenience, you can enter the Beck and Law buildings from the Visitors Center through security-monitored, climate-controlled tunnels connecting all three buildings.
