Bayou Bend, the American decorative arts center of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, hosts a free Family Day the third Sunday of each month from September through May.

Sunday, March 22:  The Sensational 60’s .

The world was a very different place when Family Days began back in 1968! This month, we celebrate all things 60’s at Bayou Bend. Join us for 1960’s inspired music and performances, then take a tour through the house where we’ll highlight objects in the collection aquired during this important decade in Bayou Bend’s history. Outside, enjoy crafts and art that explore the decade’s fashion and fads.

Bayou Bend’s Family Day programs are designed to encourage adults and children to explore American history. Each month features a different theme and a variety of related activities and performances geared toward educating and entertaining children. On Family Day, volunteers from the Houston Junior Woman’s Club show visitors the first floor of Bayou Bend.
