Don’t you just love eating breakfast for dinner? How does Saturday night in your blue jeans and bathrobe sound? Now think about a hip artsy evening at Winter Street Studios with the coolest people in town. Yes, you are invited to Hope Stone, Inc.’s First Annual Fundraising Gala:  Breakfast for Dinner.  Saturday May 2nd at Winter Street Studios - 6:30pm. Cocktails, dance performances, breakfast for dinner and lounging to follow. Attire is blue jeans and bathrobes – or any other comfy number fit for a slumber party.

In true Hope Stone fashion, you can expect the unexpected. Creativity, art and fabulousness oozing from every corner. There will be no dry chicken and round tables of ten at this event.

This gala will help to fund the following programs:

 Kid’s Play, Hope Stone’s core arts education program for at-risk youth. A multi-media dance, music, video and theater program lead by some of Houston’s finest artists and teachers, Kid’s Play engages students in an expressive art experience developing pride and confidence through year-round classes and an end-of-year performance. A phenomenal exposure to the arts for kids who need it most!

 YouthSound, an all-boys band comprised of at-risk youth. Kids are given intense musical training and the opportunity to perform throughout the year. They rock!

 Scholarships for kids who want to take any of the amazing arts classes at Hope Center that now include dance, yoga and photography. This is an opportunity for Houston youth who normally would not be able to participate in after-school programs.

 Hope Stone’s expansion to the Krause Children’s Center in Katy, Texas. This facility specializes in treating abused, neglected and troubled kids ages 11 – 17 through residential treatment. Kid’s Play will offer their program in order to help treat and heal these very deserving kids.

 Hope Stone Dance Company, bringing incredible modern dance to the Houston arts scene, under the direction of choreographer Jane Weiner. The nationally recognized company will unveil their newest work in October 2009 and as usual, will open up close to 1000 seats free to at-risk kids.
