Hooks-Epstein Galleries will proudly present Teresa Dunn's exhibition of new paintings. Dilemmas and Innocents will open Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 11 am. A reception for the artist will follow from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

In the exhibition, Dilemmas and Innocents, Dunn states, "From the time we are able to form conscious thought, life is about choices and decision making. Whether we act or refrain from action; each decision impacts our futures and the relationships we have with friends, family and strangers." She believes the majority of people view their journeys throught these dilemmas as innocents.

However, Dunn is curious about what happens when we stop viewing ourselves as innocent bystanders but as conscious contenders. Teresa Dunn's Dilemmas and Innocents explores dilemmas and the (ir)rationalization of decision making by indivduals who may or may not be present.

Teresa Dunn received her BFA in 1999 from Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State University). She then attended Indiana State University in Bloomington, IN and received her MFA in 2002. Teresa is an Assistant Professor of painting at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. She was also awarded an Intramural Research Grant from Michigan State University.

    An exhibition catalogue is available.

Teresa Dunn's, Dilemmas and Innocents will continue through May 30, 2009.
