Houston Friends of Music presents the American String Quartet  with Menachem Pressler, Tuesday, October 13, in Stude Concert Hall on the Rice University campus.

Another of the world's finest quartets, the American String Quartet  (pictured, photo by Peter Schaaf) celebrated its 33rd anniversary last year. In over three decades of touring, the American String Quartet has performed in all fifty states and virtually every important concert hall throughout the world. Residencies have included the Aspen Music Festival, the Manhattan School of Music, the Taos School of Music, the Peabody Conservatory, the Van Cliburn Competition, and University of Michigan, and Princeton University.

Internationally active as a soloist and chamber musician, pianist Menachem Pressler  was a founding member of the Beaux Arts Trio. He has established himself among the world's most distinguished and honored musicians, with a career that spans over five decades.
