    Arte y Pureza Productions brings you: A LITTLE PIECE OF SPAIN - Intensive Bulerias Workshop Series to Houston, Texas - August 14-16, 2009.  3 Days of Intensive Bulerias Classes & a Private Fiesta 12 hours of total class time and Fiesta.

    Each participant or auditor is entitled to bring one guest to the private Fiesta. Workshop to be held at: Del Espadin Flamenco & Spanish Dance Academy 3939 Hillcroft, Suite 160 Houston, Texas 77057 (corner of Westpark & Hillcroft. Look for the Flamenco Houston sign.)

    3 DAYS OF INTENSIVE BULERIAS CLASSES AND A PRIVATE FIESTA:

    Technique & Footwork with Cihtli Ocampo 1.5 hours per day
    Baile Casero: Pataitas & Marcajes with Javier Heredia 1 hour per day
    Fiesta: Compas, Verses and Improvisation with Ethan Margolis 1.5 hours per day

    Javier Heredia
    Singer/Dancer
    Born in Seville, Javier Heredia inherited a knowledge of cante and baile casero from his father and his grandfather. He worked on the docks of Seville's Guadalquivir River until his talent as a singer-dancer was recognized by the patriarchs of Seville's flamenco community. He toured as a soloist with Manuela Carrasco's company in 2004 and has performed repeatedly in the Bienal de Sevilla, the Mont de Marsan Festival in France and other important Spanish flamenco festivals. He has toured the USA as a member of Arte y Pureza and has worked with Jose Mercé, Arcangel, Manuel Molina, El Extremeño, and Juana la del Pipa amongst others.

    Described as a "...young, powerful dancer." by Dancemagazine, La Gallardí is known for her strength and power while maintaining an elegance of line that comes from a lifetime of dancing. She moved to Sevilla, Spain in 1999 to train exclusively with the legendary Farruco family. In 2004 she was incorporated into the family's company and she has performed throughout Spain and the US with "Alma Vieja" and "Familia Farruco". She was the featured female dancer in the film Exils by Tony Gatlif (Vengo, Latcho Drom) and is currently the lead dancer and assistant director of Arte y Pureza Flamenco Company. She currently resides in Lebrija, Spain with her husband, Ethan Margolis.

    Guitarist/Director
    As director of Arte y Pureza Flamenco Co. Ethan has led his company on two sold-out tours through the U.S. For the past 9 years Mr. Margolis has been quietly perfecting his craft in Sevilla, Spain where he has become one of the most respected young accompanists in the exclusive circle of Gypsies dedicated to purity. He produced and played on Miguel Funi's latest CD "Aires Gitanos", and has worked with such greats as Concha Vargas, Tomas Perrate, Manuel de Paula, Curro Fernandez, Las Peligros and Joselito Fernandez. His current projects include his Flamenco Rock opera "Spanish Day" as well as an upcoming U.S. tour with the famed singer Inés Bacán in October of 2009.
