DiverseWorks presents Luck of the Draw 8: When Art Attacks!  Real art – at really affordable prices.  Once again, DiverseWorks presents their highly anticipated summer auction, Luck of the Draw 8: When Art Attacks! on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at DiverseWorks Artspace, located at 1117 East Freeway, Houston, 77002.

An impatient art collector? Just like last year, choose to purchase one (or more) of the Top 20 Art Chance Exclusive Access tickets for $250 to be among the first to choose from the more than 200 fabulous artworks in the Luck of the Draw. A prudent collector? For a mere $125 Art Chance you’ll have a shot at one of the remaining, luscious artworks included in the summer auction.   All artworks in the Luck of the Draw 8 are approximately 8.5” x 11” created by artists from all over the world – many whose work has been shown at DiverseWorks Artspace. Both the Top 20 Art Chance Exclusive Access ticket and the Art Chance include admission to the party.

And, if you just want to party with the coolest art aficionados in the city, DiverseWorks welcomes you with a downright cheap $25 ticket that grants you admission to the best party of the summer. The art chance and admission ticket allows you to eat all the delicious nibbles from Catering by Culinaire, enjoy libations by Real Ale Brewing Co. and Dripping Springs Vodka and laugh endlessly at the comic patter of auction master of ceremonies Nancy Ford.

And there’s more. Your art chance or admission ticket allows you to bid on a special silent auction of ten mid-size artworks— including pieces by Lucinda Cobley; Ryan Geiger; Carol Gerhardt; Ben Johnston & Roberto Cervantes; Tierney Malone; Gabriela Trzebinski and Wendy Wagner among others—which will be on display outside the main gallery. Art for the people – the DiverseWorks way.

The sorcerers behind this summer soiree are co-chairs J. Douglas Parker and Karen Niemeier. Their stellar Host Committee includes: Catherine Anspon, David A.
