SPECIAL EVENTS

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department presents Fireworks-on-the-Brazos, a FREE Fireworks Extravaganza Choreographed to Patriotic Music! Saturday July 4 at the Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. FREE Admission.

Celebrate our nation's independence at the Birthplace of Texas. Enjoy a full day of family festivities. Tour historic Barrington Living History Farm, Independence Hall, and the Star of the Republic Museum. Tour fees apply.  When it gets dark, prepare for Fireworks-on-the-Brazos presented by HEB. This enormous fireworks extravaganza can be viewed from all locations within the 293-acre park.

7:00 p.m. FREE Blue Bell ice cream and FREE Coca-Cola drinks

8:00 p.m. FREE "Back at the Ranch" Western Swing Concert with Patriotic Video

9:00 p.m. H-E-B present Fireworks-on-the-Brazos!

State park rules prohibit alcohol.

Independence Hall

Tour the replica of Independence Hall, located on the cornerstones of the original building where the Texas Declaration of Independence was drafted and signed on March 2, 1836.

Star of the Republic Museum

Enjoy the new, award-winning exhibits provide a comprehensive, unparalleled look at the people and places that shaped the character of this unique nation of Texas from 1836 -1845.

Barrington Living History Farm

Costumed interpreters bring this working 1850's cotton farm to life as they perform the daily chores of the farm. The Farm includes the original home of Anson Jones, the last president of Texas.
