    Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing Series: Rev. Mauricio Chacón, Meditation Leader

    The contemplative aspects of the world’s great religious traditions are presented in the Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing Series, a series of free lunchtime programs. Spiritual practice can offer the possibility of healing—physical and psychological—as it deepens a sense of meaning and connection to what matters most.

    Wednesday, June 10: Rev. Mauricio Chacón, Meditation Leader

    Rev. Mauricio Chacón, a Presbyterian minister, was born in El Salvador, where he studied law. He is an Associate Pastor at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and is starting a new Hispanic church in Spring Branch. He served for almost fifteen years in San Francisco's Mission District as pastor of Mission Presbyterian Church, a bilingual ministry.

    He graduated from McCormick Theological Seminary M. Div. class of 1993 where he now serves as member of the Board of Trustees. He is a candidate for Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the San Francisco Theological Seminary.

    Rev. Chacón is one of the founding members of the Interfaith Coalition for Immigrant Rights, an organization of more than five thousand people organized to defend the rights of newcomers to the United States.

    Twelve Moments of Spirituality and Healing is co-sponsored by the Jung Center of Houston, Ligmincha Texas Institute, and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
