Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) presents the KVPAC SUMMER CAMP BROADWAY SERIES:  High School Musical 2.  Friday July 24 and Saturday, July 25.

Disney Channel's smash hit musical comes to life on your stage! The gang's all here for an action-packed summer extravaganza as Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the Wildcats finish junior year and blast onto the summer scene. At the Lava Springs Country Club, Sharpay reigns supreme while the Wildcats get to work - literally! Keeping every ounce of the light-hearted fun that makes High School Musical a household name, this buoyant sequel takes on the questions of real kids facing the realities of the adult world. Friendships are tested, summer romances go haywire, and the meaning of success is redefined.

Troy is offered a job at Ryan & Sharpay's country club and ends up landing jobs for Gabriella, Chad, Taylor, Kelsi, Jason, Martha and Zeke. He is then introduced to Sharpay's parents and realizes that Sharpay can land him many opportunities and even a basketball scholarship. Meanwhile, while Zac starts hanging out with the rich folk, Chad is worried that Zac will forget his friends. Gabriella feels as though she is losing Troy to Sharpay. In the end, Troy will have to learn how to think about his scholarship without losing his friends.

Songs by Matthew Gerrard and David N. Lawrence and Faye Greenberg, Snogs by Robbie Nevil, Songs by Randy Petersen and Kevin Quinn and Jamie Houston and Andy Dodd and Adam Watts, Book by David Simpatico, Based on the Disney Channel Original Movie written by Peter Barsocchini.

    Directed by Maggie Rodriguez.
