Aurora Picture Show presents A/V Geeks: Crafty is as Crafty Does.  With Skip Elsheimer of A/V Geeks in attendance, Sunday, August 30, 3pm. Location: Hits Theatre, 311 18th Street. $10 non-members, $5 kids under 12, members free.

A/V Geeks presents a family friendly screening event about arts and crafts at the Hits Theatre in the Heights. Come learn about the art of the craft from the 1950s with fun film titles including At Your Fingertips: Boxes, Rag Tapestry and Puppets. After the screening join in for your own crafting fun experience. The Contemporary Arts Museum’s Teen Council will help kids make their own fun crafts after the show. Pizza slices and soda snacks provided too!

Hits Theatre is a performance space and theatre school located in the Houston Heights. For nearly 30 years, HITS has been teaching lessons for both on and off the stage – creativity, collaboration and confidence to name a few.

The A/V Geeks Film Archive is an ephemeral film collection curated by Skip Elsheimer. What started as a hobby more than ten years is now a lifetime commitment. His collection has grown to over 20,000 films gathered from school auctions, thrift stores, closets and dumpsters. He presents themed film shows in his home base of Raleigh, North Carolina and he's taken his shows on the road across the United States.
