Houston Center for Contemporary Craft (HCCC) presents the exhibition, In Residence 2008, on view June 25 – August 22, 2009.  AIR (Artists-in-Residence) Summer Celebration, Open Studios, Opening Reception and Mini Silent Auction! Thursday, June 25, 5:30p - 8:00p.

Curated by Gwynne Rukenbrod, HCCC Curator of Fine Craft, In Residence 2008 showcases new and recent works in a variety of media by Houston Center for Contemporary Craft’s 2008 Artists-in-Residence. Featured artists include Jay Calder, Barbara Kile, Hyo-in Kim, Kim Ritter, John Paul Van Domelen, Laura Viada, and Lynn Williams.

    About the Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Program
HCCC has five on-site artist studios to give visitors an up-close, insider’s view of the creative process. The resident artists play an integral role in introducing visitors to the hands-on making of craft, while they work to expand the parameters of their chosen medium and explore new directions in their work. The program, which provides underwritten studio rent and a monthly stipend, is open to local, national and international artists working in the traditional craft media of clay, fiber, glass, metal or wood, as well as mixed media. The artist applicants are juried and selected by the HCCC AIR Committee.
