    What better way to explore natural science than by getting out into nature? Venture into the field with our curators and other local experts for a fun and fascinating  Excursion. Each Excursion offers several hours of one-on-one interaction with an expert in the topic as well as unique experiences with nature.

    What better way to explore natural science than by getting out into nature? Venture into the field with our curators and other local experts for a fun and fascinating  Excursion. Each Excursion offers several hours of one-on-one interaction with an expert in the topic as well as unique experiences with nature.

    Houston Museum of Natural Science presents HMNS Day Excursions: Waugh Bridge Bats,  Monday, August 24, 7:30 p.m.  Visit Houston’s Mexican free-tailed bat colony. We will enjoy an amazing view of the bats’ emergence at dusk from the viewing platform on the Buffalo Bayou. Dr. Dan Brooks, HMNS curator of vertebrate zoology, will be our guide. Dr. Brooks has studied bats around the globe.

    Register early.

    Directions will be e-mailed to participants prior to trip. Meeting time may change due to bat emergence schedule. This will also be confirmed prior to the trip.
