Brazos Bookstore is pleased to present John Truax, who signs and discusses his  book, Living in Mérida.

So many people are choosing to retire in Mexico and especially in Mérida, Yucatán, that a group of ex-pats living in Mérida and the Yucatán, wrote the book Living In Merida, as a guide with detailed information for living, working and traveling in Mérida and the State of Yucatán.

Mérida is located less than two hours by plane from Houston. The cost of living is low and quality of life is superb. Mérida has a booming arts community and a rich Mayan culture.

All proceeds from the sale of Living in Mérida goes to help two non-profits located in Mérida, Brazos Abiertos, Inc. and Mérida Verde. Brazos Abiertos supplies HIV education, prevention and medication to the Maya villages. Mérida Verde is an organization that promotes green living in Mérida and the Yucatán.

John Truax, a native Houstonian who has lived in Mérida for six years, consulted on the book with Julie Hoover and writers Jane McCarthy and Bruce Kelly.

The event will be underwritten by Mexico International Real Estate Company located in Mérida. A representative from Mexico International will attend the event.
