Main Street Theater Theater for Youth presents The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, based on the book by Barbara Robinson, and adapted for the stage by Barbara Robinson.  Directed by Rebecca Greene Udden.

    FAMILY PERFORMANCES: Saturdays, November 28 and December 5 & 12, 2009 at 1pm and 4pm. Special Pageant Family performance on Friday, November 27 at 11:30am. SCHOOL MATINEES: November 23 – December 17, 2009,  Monday – Friday at 9:30am, 11:00am and 12:30pm.

The Herdman kids are the most horrible children imaginable. They are disrespectful, they cuss, they lie, they smoke cigars – they are every decent person’s worst nightmare! So when they show up at church one Sunday and decide to participate in the annual Christmas pageant, everyone is worried, to say the least. But miracles come in all shapes and sizes…

Join the fun with this delightfully funny holiday story about the true meaning of Christmas.

Recommended for Kindergarten and up. Children under the age of 3 (including sleeping babies) not allowed in the theater.

PARKING UPDATE AT CHELSEA MARKET (MAY 2014):

As you may or may not be aware, Main Street Theater's Chelsea Market activities will move to the MATCH once it's built.  The MATCH is the Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston and will break ground on May 7, 2014.  We hope to be able to move out of Chelsea market into our new home at the MATCH in the fall of 2015.  There's more information on the MATCH here: http://www.matchouston.org/

    IN THE MEANTIME:
You may have noticed that Chelsea Market has recently lost half its parking lot in a sale to a developer. In addition, our lease on that space has expired, BUT we are being allowed to stay through our 2015 season, providing we can find solutions to some of the parking problems our activities create. This affects all our programs: the showcases on Saturday mornings, our schoolday performances, and our weekend family matinees.  We are very grateful to be able to stay at Chelsea until the MATCH is ready.

We want to do everything we can to help our fellow tenants and our landlord, so:

    • For SATURDAY PERFORMANCES, we have received permission from the Joy School across Chelsea Blvd. to use their parking lot.  If it is convenient for you, please check this lot first for parking and walk across the courtyard to the theater.
    • There's also quite a bit of on-street parking on Chelsea Blvd.

We hope this will also make it easier for YOU as you won't have to deal with the stress of a full Chelsea Market parking lot!
