    The Houston Arts Alliance provides workshops in technical assistance through the Management & Organizational Development Enterprise (MODE) program, as well as arts marketing through the National Arts Marketing Project (NAMP). Tuesday, August 4, HAA presents a  MODE Workshop: “Building Your Development Plan.”  Location:  United Way Greater Houston,  50 Waugh Drive, Houston, TX 77007.

    About this Workshop:

    If a nonprofit is to be financially viable in today’s competitive marketplace, it must create and then implement a sound development plan. In this session we will learn how to create a comprehensive plan that is clear and actionable. The session will provide participants with tools to develop their own development plans, and will cover the following topics followed by discussion and questions:

    • Background and Context
    • The Importance of a Diversified Program
    • Tools and Resources
    • Creating the Plan
    • Tracking and Evaluating the Plan
    • Renewing and Updating the Plan

    About the Presenter:

    Kimberly Sterling (pictured) is the president of Sterling Associates, a Houston-based consulting firm serving non-profit organizations. She began her development career in Houston in 1984 after working for Ogilvy & Mather Advertising in New York and Houston, and in 1988 began working as a consultant to non-profits. Her firm works in partnership with non-profit institutions, providing a wide range of services, including capital and endowment campaign planning and management, strategic planning, program development, board development, and communications.
