Due to the arctic front that has moved into the area we are changing the time of Winterfest scheduled for this Saturday, January 9th.  Winterfest, January 9th this Saturday - New Time 12 noon - 5 pm. Event has been moved to 4717 Bailey Road Campus (The Old Dawson High School Location).  Continue Parking at Pearland High School on 3775 South Main - FREE Shuttles will take you to the event.

Pearland Parks & Recreation presents Pearland Winterfest, Saturday, January 9, 2010, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, at Independence Park. 

Winterfest is proud to host a 'Green Event' introducing the Recycle Snowman Contest and eco-friendly entertainers and vendors. Mark your calendar for a fun-filled day with the sights, sounds and activities of winter.

Activities at Winterfest include:

Three lane snow tubing hill
200,000 lbs of snow
Rides and Inflates
Carnival Rides and Midway Games
Fearless Flores Thrill Show
Petting Zoos
Pony rides
Recycle Snowman Contest
Live Entertainment
Mural painting,
Dancing Horses Demonstrations
Crocodile Encounters
Climbing Wall
Many hands on activities

Food vendors offer a delicious variety of foods from BBQ, turkey legs, burgers, funnel cakes, chocolate covered cheesecake and bananas, kettle corn and roasted nuts.

Don't forget your canned good for a $2 discount per admission! In 2009 we donated over 6,400 lbs of food to the Pearland Neighborhood Center - almost twice as much as in 2008!

The Recycle Snowman Contest is offered to families, school classes, or clubs to construct snowmen out of recyclable products. The Recycle Snowman contest is a fun way for parents, teachers and local club leaders to educate local children on the benefits of recycling. There is a $5 per entry fee per snowman due by January 5, 2010. Groups must pre-register for this contest.
