Talento Bilingüe de Houston presents Reflecting Hispanic Heritage Month: Bocón.  By Lisa Loomer.  Directed by Angeles Romero.  September 28th, 29th, 30th, Curtain 9:30 am & 11:15 am.

In this fable filled with humor, mysticism and song, Talento Bilingüe de Houston proudly premieres an in-house production by its first acting class taught by Angeles Romero.

Bocón tells the story of Miguel, a twelve year-old boy, who flees a repressive military regime in Central America for the United States. A natural storyteller and irrepressible "Bocón"/ "Big Mouth," Miguel loses his voice when his parents are taken and begins a metaphorical journey north. Along the way he teams up with an unusual traveling companion, La Llorona, the legendary "Weeping Woman" of Mexican mythology. Through their magical friendship, Miguel finds his voice and the courage to cross the border to a new life.

Miguel's story is relevant to immigrants across the world and to any child who is learning to find his or her own voice.

Bocón is available to all schools at a discount as part of TBH's Hispanic Heritage Month For group or school bookings please contact Amira Gongora amira@tbhcenter.org  or Mary Vaughan mary@tbhcenter.org , 713.222.1213.
