Cypress Creek FACE and Carranza Puppets present Pinocchio. 10 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 - Free Children's Series.
Pinocchio is an Italian literary children’s classic book written by Carlo Collodi (1826-1890). Collodi grew up near Florence, Italy. He later wrote this famous, self-reflective tale about a little wooden puppet with good intentions, but a reluctant will. Pinocchio is an odyssey in which a puppet, by the making of ironic choices, experiences many trials and misadventures, and their eventual consequences. These experiences, however, gain Pinocchio a truer course in life. This eventually leads him to the maturity, which is symbolized in this story by the puppet turning into a “real boy.”
This play can feature only a small portion of Pinocchio’s many adventures, so you may want to read Collodi’s book to your children to learn of all his experiences.
The children will learn many life skills through Pinocchio’s trials and tribulations, including the value of a good education. Step into the world of make-believe where there is wonder, intense emotions, and a dramatic ending to delight the audience. Come — be carried away!
All children’s concerts are FREE and no tickets will be distributed.
