Cypress Creek FACE presents Konishi-Jiang-Fardet Trio:  Trio Favorites.  3 p.m., Tuesday, May 11, 2010.  These three dynamic musicians – Akiko Konishi, Quan Jiang, Louis-Marie Fardet – will perform two piano trio favorites: Beethoven’s “Ghost” and Arensky’s piano trio. Their virtuosity will put you on the edge of your seat.

Pianist Akiko Konishi has completed her studies at Rice University, Yale University and University of Houston. She has worked with Abbey Simon, John Perry, and Peter Frankl. She appears in recitals throughout the U.S and abroad.

Violinist Quan Jiang currently plays in the first violin section of Houston Symphony. He was formerly the Assistant Concertmaster of the San Antonio Symphony, where he appeared as soloist. His CDs include the complete string quartets of Saint-Saens and the Ysaye Sonate for two violins, which can both be found on the Eroica label.

Louis-Marie Fardet (pictured above) was former cellist with Paris Opera Orchestra and is currently associate principal of the Houston Grand Opera and Houston Ballet Orchestras. He is a very active chamber musician and a soloist.
