The first-ever Gulf Coast Poetry Tour will launch at Rudyard's on Tuesday, October 6.  Poets from all quarters of literary Houston will gather to read their work together with special guests from Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Mobile. Readings begin promptly at 8pm and continue until every poet is heard or the stroke of midnight, whichever comes first.

Traveling from Houston to Mobile Oct. 6-9, the tour spotlights new and emerging poets and lots of 'em, reading up to 7 minutes each. Think of it as jam session and don't worry if you can't stay for the whole shebang. The tour is possible through a coalition of volunteer organizers and poets across the Gulf region and the support of venues including Rudyard's; Teddy's Juke Joint; Loyola University and Brinks' Gold Mine; Serda's Coffee House and the City of Mobile's ArtWalk.
