Kristin Cashore is an American fantasy author, whose first book, Graceling, was published in October 2008. The book has been nominated for the Andre Norton and William C. Morris awards, and is held in over 1000 libraries. Her second book, Fire, is due out in October 2009, and is described as being a 'prequel-ish companion book' to Graceling. Her third book is still being written, and is tentatively titled Bitterblue.

Kristin Cashore has written for The Horn Book Guide, The Looking Glass: An Online Children’s Literature Journal, and Children’s Literature in Education. She received a master’s degree in children’s literature from Simmons College. She lives in Jacksonville, Florida.
