Wordsmyth Theater Company is proud to present a new play, Curve, by Sam Havens, Professor of Drama at the University of St. Thomas. The play will take place at Stages Repertory Theater, Monday September 28, 2009 at 7:00 pm. This event is FREE and open to the public!

Curve : Dakin Abernathy, noted film noir director, accuses his neighbor of having murdered his own wife. In fact, Dakin, produces a severed woman’s thumb as evidence. Ted Mueller protests. Yet as the morning spins into afternoon and evening, Dakin and Ted play cat and mouse over murder, breaking and entering, and the very nature of fact and fiction.

Justin Doran will direct and Dr. Robert Shimko, Assistant Professor of Theatre History & Dramaturgy at the University of Houston will moderate. The audience will then be invited to stay after the performance for a talk-back discussion. The play being read is Curve, by Sam Havens, Professor of Drama at the University of St. Thomas here in Houston. Director is Justin Doran; moderator is as always Dr. Robert Shimko, Assistant Professor of Theatre History & Dramaturgy at the University of Houston.
