    Aurora Picture Show presents Wide Awake, with filmmaker Alan Berliner in attendance Saturday, November 7, at 7PM. Location: Frenetic Theater, 5102 Navigation.

    An idiosyncratic and cinematically innovative essay exploring filmmaker Alan Berliner’s lifelong obsession with insomnia, Wide Awake ultimately reveals -- in ways both hilarious and deeply personal -- how sleeplessness has profoundly impacted the delicate relationship between his creative life and family responsibility.

    “Berliner… has the gift of addressing intimate subjects and making them universal.” wrote Variety, “Nowhere has he done this better than with “Wide Awake.”

    The film had its world premiere at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, and its international premiere at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival.

    Join Aurora Picture Show, Sunday, November 8 at 1pm for a Video Salon,  a discussion about experimental documentary with filmmaker Alan Berliner where he will talk about his films and process. Location: Aurora Video Library, 1524 Sul Ross. Free Admission.
