Winter Street Studios presents Brush Strokes for Four Legged Friends. Winter Street Studios, Elizabeth Cencini, Olga LaMont, and Hebe Brooks of Studio #20 will be holding a reception on November 7th, from 6-9 p.m., to raise money for Texas No Kill and Safe Respite, a non profit organization that helps rescue pets and offers neuter assistance.
The evening will include artworks for sale with a percentage of the sales benefiting Texas No Kill. There will be pictures posted of animals up for adoption. Texas No Kill will provide information about their organization, opportunities to assist, and programs available to the public. Other studios in the surrounding vicinity have also been invited to be open for the event.
Join artists, Paula Hawkins in studio #24, Greg Scott in studio # 21, William H. Miller in studio #17B, Van McFarland in studio #18, Patrick Talley in studio # 24, Belinda Smith in studio #14 as we open our doors to raise money for the cause. All sales from the open studios will benefit Texas No Kill.

About Texas No Kill‘s Mission: Texas No Kill strives to do just what its title implies: See a day when in Texas there is no need to kill our domestic animals in local shelters. To accomplish this, however, we must meet two objectives: To prevent the number of unwanted and uncared for animals, and ensure the animals that do exist, are healthy and well cared for in their homes. This means every cat and dog should be neutered or spayed, and every animal should have basic and routine preventive and medical care. Texas No Kill works towards these goals through rescue and neuter assistance. Our neuter assistance efforts have included low income pet owners, catch and release feral cats, adoptive pet owners, and other rescue groups. The medical care we assist with includes: vaccinations, treatment for internal and external parasites, which includes heartworm treatment, and the treatment of various viral and bacterial infections and disease. In short, if an animal comes across it path, we want to enable its health and happiness while preventing it from reproducing. Safe Respite is a sister organization to Texas No Kill.
